NEWINGTON, Conn. – Patricia (Dionne) Szerejko, wife of Walter J. Szerejko for 47 years, of Newington, peacefully passed away early Monday morning, March 22, 2004, surrounded by her family. She was born April 1, 1925, in Bangor, the daughter of the late Charles B. Dionne and Bridget (LeBlanc) Dionne, she lived most of her life in the Hartford area. We will often smile when we remember her sense of direction, love of a road trip and weakness for animals among other things. Her loving hands quilted many gifts, which will be always cherished. Patricia was a dedicated parishioner of St. Mary Church in Newington, Conn. In addition to her husband, Walter, she leaves her four daughters, Margaret Root of East Hampton, Ann Marie Szerejko of Newington, Conn., Lorraine Wetstone of Newington, Conn., and Barbara Carlevale and her husband, Bill, of East Hampton; her sister, Margaret Curran of California; a sister-in-law, Ellen Dionne of Bangor; her grandchildren, Audrey and Hillary Root of East Hampton and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Pat was predeceased by her sister, Albertina Kelly and her brothers, Charles and Joseph Dionne. The funeral will be held 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Willard Avenue, Newington. Burial will be in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Friends and relatives may call 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
