BANGOR – Patricia J. Sproul, 84, wife of the late L. Galen Sproul, died peacefully June 8, 2008, at her home. She was born April 13, 1924, in Bangor, the daughter of Walter and Edith (Pinkham) Tozier. Patricia attended Bangor schools, was a member of First Baptist Church of Bangor, Kings Daughters, Bethany Circle of Kings Daughters and D.A.V. Auxiliary. In her younger days, she enjoyed snowmobiling and being at camp. In her later years, she enjoyed her time with family and friends dining out and visiting at Beach Hill Pond. Pat was a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She is survived by her three children, Lawrence “Larry” Sproul and his wife, Patricia, of Austin, Texas, Barbara Sproul and Crawford of Otis and Gregory “Gregg” Sproul and his wife, Laurie, of Bangor; nine grandchildren, Regina, Vicki, Lawrence “Buddy” and Christopher, all of Texas, Kirsten and Julia of Virginia, Andrew, Jarred and Adam of Bangor; nine great-grandchildren; her faithful companion, Beau; several nieces, nephews and many special friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by all of her brothers and sisters. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, June 13, with the Rev. Stephanie Salinas and the Rev. Robert T. Carlson, co-officiating. Interment will be held after at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments immediately after the interment at her son’s home in Bangor.
