MILLINOCKET – Patrick A. Landry, 82, died Thursday, June 26, 2008, on the eve of the 15th anniversary of his wife’s death, at a Millinocket health care facility. He was born Jan. 11, 1926, in Millinocket, the son of Alex A. and Annie (Boutot) Landry. Patrick was a graduate of Stearns High School, Class of 1943. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946, where he served on the minesweeper USS Chimo. He was a graduate of Becker Junior College, Class of 1949, and was married to Janette Baulier, September 5, of that same year. Patrick worked for Great Northern Paper Co., Millinocket, for 34 years, retiring in 1986. He was a loyal follower of New England sports teams and had a long history of watching the Red Sox play in person. An avid golfer, Patrick accomplished the rare feat of scoring a hole-in-one shot on two separate occasions, June 8, 1995, and July 5, 1995, at Hillcrest Golf Club, Millinocket. Throughout the years he also enjoyed camping with his family. Patrick was also a member of VFW Frances Elliott Post No. 4154 and Donald V. Henry Post No. 80 of the American Legion, Millinocket. Patrick is survived by two sons, Stephen P. Landry of Millinocket and David A. Landry and his companion, Bonnie Pearl, of Brownville; a daughter, Shelly J. Turcotte and her husband, Terry, of East Millinocket; seven brothers, Martin Landry of Sacramento, Calif., Phil Landry of Connecticut, Alex Landry Jr. of Houston, Ray Landry of San Antonio, Rudy Landry Sr. of East Millinocket, Michael Landry of Portland, Conn., and Leroy Landry of Howland; seven grandchildren, Carrie Gould and her husband, Ray, Leanna Gould and her husband, Kevin, Jeremy Landry and his wife, Kasia, Jason Landry, Justin Landry, Devon Turcotte and Jean-Marie Turcotte; five great-grandchildren, Joshua Landry, Nathan Gould, Rylah Gould, Talia Gould and Joseph Landry; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife, Janette (Baulier) Landry, Patrick was predeceased by a sister, Alexine Tinkham; a brother, Edgar Landry; and three grandchildren, Erika, Derek and Dustin Turcotte. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 112 Maine Ave., Millinocket.
