VAN BUREN – Patrick L. Brissette, 85, died May 2, 2007, at a Caribou hospital. He was born July 7, 1921, in Caribou, the son of Napoleon and Margaret (O’Clair) Brissette. Patrick was educated in Car-ibou schools and devoted his early adulthood to farming and enjoyed everything that was farm related. He also had a passion for everything automotive. Patrick married Mabel Dominique Nov. 11, 1952, in Connor, New Brunswick, Canada. Together they raised five children. He is survived by two sons, Arthur Brissette and his wife, Lisa, and Arnold Brissette, all of Van Buren; two daughters, Martha Poyner and special friend, J.R. Richardson, of Texarkana, Texas, and Barbara Hughes and her husband, Greg, of Augusta, Ga.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ida Chapman and Blanche Hebert, both of Caribou. He was predeceased by his wife, Mabel in 2000; one son, Michael Brissette in 1968, three brothers, Romeo, Lawrence and Armand; and by one sister, Irene. Patrick will be remembered as a caring and loving father, grandfather and great- grandfather. Relatives and friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 9:30 a.m. until time of service Monday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be at Grande Riviere Cemetery.
