PRESQUE ISLE – Paul E. Bossie, 88, died Wednesday morning, March 5, 2008, at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born April 18, 1919, in Fort Kent, the son of Leo and Melonia (Bouchard) Bossie. Paul worked as a carpenter at Loring Air Force Base, the L.M. Cutchin Construction Co. and for Joe Hedrich Sr. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Paul is survived by seven siblings, Orenie and his wife, Elcide, of New Canada, Camille and his wife, Theresa, and Edwina Daigle, all of Caribou, Ella and her husband, Bob Dumond, of Hancock, Regina and her husband, Donald St. Jarre, and Bertha Bard, all of Connecticut, and Lena Pelletier of Veazie. Paul inherited a very large family when he married Elizabeth (Paradis) Derrah, in the fall of 1981. Also surviving Paul is his stepson, George Derrah and his wife, Beverly, of Limestone; 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Priscilla (Marquis) Bossie; and an infant daughter, Gilda. Paul’s second wife, Elizabeth, also predeceased him along with two stepdaughters, Patricia Daniels and Natalie Bahre. Also predeceasing him were his five brothers, Ronaldo, Leonard, Norman, Raymond and Edgar; and two sisters, Cecile Voisine and Juliette Bossie. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff and residents of Leisure Gardens and the Presque Isle Rehab and Nursing Center for the kindness and compassion extended to Paul. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Raymond Morency, celebrant. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Spring interment will be at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Cemetery, St. Agatha.
