MARS HILL – Paul E. Colson, 89, passed away Dec. 6, 2003, at TAMC healthcare facility in Presque Isle with his family nearby and in their thoughts. He has gone to be with the Lord and be rejoined with his wife, Bertha (McCleary) Colson, and family and friends who have gone before him. He was born May 31, 1914, in Calais, the son of Bert and Verna (Lindsay) Colson. He was an honor member of the National Honor Society at Central Aroostook High School, an alternate at West Point Academy, a scoutmaster for many years, on the board of directors for Aroostook Area Agency on Aging, worked as a custodian at the local library and schools and retired from TAMC. He loved to fish. Paul leaves behind two daughters, Virginia LaFleur of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Charlene Lento of Mars Hill; eight grandchildren, Robert and Shelly Lento, Thomas and Debra Lento, Peter and Kristina Lento, Damon Stickney and Barb Hendricks; as well as five great-granddaughters, Amber, Ashley, April, Brittany and Kara and a special friend Clair Bragdon. At the family’s request, there will be no services at this time. A private family celebration of his life will be held in the summer of 2004.
