PAUL M. BOULAY LEWISTON – Paul M. Boulay, 85, of 550 College St., Lewiston, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at the Montello Nursing Home, following a long illness. Born Nov. 18, 1917, in Lewiston, he was the son of Chrysologue and Regina Bergeron Bouley. Educated in local schools, he was a graduate of Lewiston High School, where he received many awards for his excellence in baseball and football, and was awarded the title of “Best in New England” for boxing. As an adult he was a dedicated and active citizen of Lewiston, serving as an alderman and as police commissioner for several years, and in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was married to the former Mary Elizabeth O’Neil, who passed away on Dec. 8, 1984, and later married the former Jeanne Morin Champagne. A longtime resident of Franklin Street in Lewiston, he lived in Naples for several years before moving back and taking up residence in Montello Heights Apartments on College Street. Employed by George Business Forms for many years and retiring as vice president of the company, he was a life-long member of Martindale Country Club, the American Legion, and the Elks Club. A member of Ss. Peter & Paul Parish. He is survived by his wife of Lewiston; two daughters, Judith Boulay Bryant and longtime companion, James Tiernan, of Bangor and Ft. Pierce, Fla., and Ann Boulay Gresian and husband, Michael, of Plainville, Mass.; three step-sons, Fern and wife, Nancy Champagne, of Terryville, Conn., Jim and wife, Lorraine Champagne, of Sabattus, and Paul and wife, Lise, of Lewiston; a brother, Robert Boulay of Stoneham, Mass.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Claire MacBain. Services will be held Sunday at the Albert & Burpee Funeral Home, 253 Pine St., Lewiston, with a period of visitation starting at 10 a.m. and followed by a service in the funeral home at 12 p.m. Interment, St. Peter’s Cemetery.
