PAUL M. GEEL, MSGT U.S.A.F. RETIRED EAST MACHIAS – Paul M. Geel, 74, husband of Carrie Geel, died May 9, 2004. He was born Oct. 16, 1929, at Machiasport, the son of Ralph and Addie (Scott) Geel. Paul was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of World War II, and Korea serving 26 and half years in the military. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post No. 1737 and a member of the American Legion Post No. 9 for 33 years. For many years he served as a selectman in the town of East Machias. In addition to his wife of 53 years, Carrie, he is survived by his daughter, Carol Geel and significant other, Robert Hukki, of East Machias; granddaughter, Shannon of East Machias; great-grandchildren, Kristen and Paige; a brother, Roger Geel and wife, Shirley; two sisters, Jennie Griffin of Windsor, Conn., Anna Geel and companion, Bill Griffin, of Gardners Lake; one aunt, Madeline Flood of Hadley Lake; sisters-in-law, Beverly Geel of Whiting, Pam Geel of Harrington; brothers-in-law, Johnny, Joe and Don Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Paul Geel Jr.; and two brothers, Richard and Larry Geel. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2004, at the Eastside Cemetery, Machiasport, with Arlie Morse officiating. Arrangements are in the care of Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Machias.
