HOULTON – Paul Moses Miller, 92, died Nov. 5, 2005, at a local healthcare facility. He was born April 4, 1913, in Monticello, the son of Perry and Bernice (Curtis) Miller. Trained to be a cook by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930’s, he will be remembered as the proprietor of Miller’s Restaurant in Monticello. He was later employed by Putnam Brothers. Paul was a member of the Hodgdon United Baptist Church. He loved hunting, fishing and vegetable gardening. He sorely missed these activities in his later years of declining health. As a lifelong Red Sox fan, he was delighted when they became the World Champions in 2004. While a resident of Madigan House, he found great joy in music and singing; he often entertained his fellow residents. Paul is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Ellis and her husband, Arnold, of Kennebunk and Patricia McGillicuddy of Bangor; nine grandchildren, Terrence McGillicuddy of Northwood, Mass., Timothy McGillicuddy of Bangor, Hollie McGillicuddy of East Greenbush, N.Y., Erin Martin of Bangor, Michelle Barron of Yarmouth, Steven Ellis of Portland, Daniel Ellis of Novato, Calif., Margaret Churchill of Hampden and Mary Hughes of Boca Raton, Fla.; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Maxine in 2000; a baby daughter, Diane Rae; a baby son, Lawrence Paul; two sisters, Ruth Ford and Eunice Cleary; four brothers, Claude, Roy, Robert and Clifton “Babe” Miller. Friends may call noon until the time of service 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Dunn Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Lunn officiating. Interment will be in the Foster Cemetery, Monticello.
