PAUL W. HERSEY MONTICELLO – Paul W. Hersey, 78, died Oct. 2, 2003, at a local health care facility. He was born Feb. 17, 1925, at Monticello, the son of Wesley S. and Cassie (Hamilton) Hersey. Paul served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the DAV. He is survived by three sons, Steven Hersey of Milford, Conn., Jeffrey Hersey of Monticello, Vaughn Hersey of S. Dartmouth, Mass.; five daughters, Katherine Brown of Houlton, Paula Reynolds of Presque Isle, Connie Pryor of Woodland, Sandra Hallett of Bridgewater, Peggy Prest of Presque Isle; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Clarence Hersey of Monticello; one sister, Alma Gatulis of Foxboro, Mass.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty Marie Hersey; one brother, Ira Hersey; two sisters, Laura Stitham and Clara Britton. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the Dunn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Monticello Calvary Pentecostal Church with Rev. Steven Izzo officiating. Interment will be in the Jewell Cemetery.
