OLD TOWN – Pauline A. Baillargeon, 85, wife of the late Alfred E. Baillargeon died peacefully Jan. 7, 2006 at a Bangor hospital surrounded by her whole family. She was born July 5, 1920, in Old Town, a daughter of Leon and Florence (Cote) Pelletier. A lifelong resident of French Island in Old Town, Pauline attended St. Joseph School. She was employed at the Old Town Shoe for many years and the University of Maine, Stewart Commons as a line server, retiring in 1983 after 13 years of service. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. She was a faithful member of Holy Family Parish, Old Town. In her retirement, Pauline loved to travel, talk “democratic” politics and spend time with her family and friends. She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Petrie and her husband, Bob, of Benton; six grandchildren, Matthew Costello and his wife, Cecile, of Old Town, David Costello and his wife Sally of Baltimore, Md., Lisa Herbet and her husband, Michael, of Greene, Debra Michaud and her husband, Ray, of Sabattus, Jason Petrie and his wife, Rebecca, of Waterville and Troy Petrie and his wife, Misti, of Tucson, Ariz.; nine great-grandchildren, John and Ben of Old Town, Britni and Colby of Sabattus, Simon and Alexandra of Greene and Sam, Tom and Grace of Baltimore, Md. several nieces and nephews, and a special friend Priscilla Dionne. She was predeceased by her daughter, Gail; a brother, David Pelletier; and a sister, Corinne Cook. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town where members of the KC Auxiliary will conduct a prayer service 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Parish with the Rev. Wilfred Labbe, celebrant. Immediately following the Mass all are invited to the Holy Family Parish Center for a light luncheon and continued fellowship. Spring interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Step Up for Holy Family Fund or the Building Fund at Holy Family Parish, 429 Main St., Old Town, ME 04468.
