MILO – Perl J. Morrison, 70, died Dec. 16, 2006, surrounded by his family at home. He was born April 15, 1936, in Bucksport, the son of James Linscott and Mary Elizabeth (O’Neil) Morrison. Perl started out his working career at 12 years old, shoveling the tracks for B & A. He then went on to be a delivery boy for the Milo Farmers Union, Milo, and worked his way up to be store manager. He then went on to work for MSAD No. 41 as a school bus driver. The next step was to Dexter Shoe Co., Milo, where he worked until his retirement in 2000. After his retirement, he worked part-time driving truck for JSI and Worster’s Blueberries. In his younger years, he enjoyed being a part-time police officer for Milo, and sealer of weights and measures for the state of Maine. One very important note that he always instilled in his four daughters was “You get up in the morning and go to work.” Perl was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 27 years. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Josephine (Damon) Morrison; four daughters, Debra Roberts and husband, Billy, of Atkinson, Penny Ames and husband, Russell, of Milo, Pearl “Tiny” Tweedie and husband, Allen, of Milo and Hazel “Fran” Brewer and husband, Jeff, of Brownville Junction; his six grandchildren, Jessica Atkinson and husband, Jason, of Orneville, Hillary Roberts of Bangor, Hilda Roberts of Atkinson, James and Brittany Tweedie of Milo and Adam Brewer of Brownville Junction; a great-grandson, Grady Atkinson, the apple of “Ole Bampa’s” eye; and a special niece, Johnnie Badger and husband, Lewis and daughter, Lanie Lynn, his adopted granddaughter. He is also survived by two sisters, Adeline Richards and husband, Arthur, of Bradford and Ruth Dunton of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Robert, Craig, Harold and Donald “Bucky”; and a sister, Pauline “Honey” Carey. A special thank you to Hospice, and a very special thank you to Dr. Steve Richins, who took time to really care for and make personal phone calls to our father, husband and Bampa. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Lary Funeral Home, Milo. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. James Robichaud presiding. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Milo.
