MILLINOCKET – Peter A. Pasquine Sr., 88, died Friday, April 18, 2008, at a Bangor hos-pital. He was born March 18, 1920, in Millinocket, son of F. Samuel and Bambina (Mascetta) Pasquine. Peter was a graduate of Stearns High School, Class of 1939. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and participated in the Battle of the Bulge in Germany. Peter was a recipient of the Purple Heart for wounds received in battle. After his time of service, Peter returned to Millinocket, where he worked for Great Northern Paper for 33 and one third years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of David Henry Post No. 80, American Legion in Millinocket, Knights of Columbus Council No. 680 in Millinocket, the National DAV and Francis Stinson Post No. 4154, VFW of Milliinocket. Peter was also a communicant of Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, and loved playing pitch at the Knights of Columbus Hall. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Geraldine E. (Healey) Pasquine of Millinocket; three children, Brenda O’Shea and her husband, Edmund, of Danvers, Mass., Catherine Steeves and her husband, Ernest, of Old Town and Peter A. Pasquine Jr. and Donna Duffy of Seattle; a brother, Frederick Pasquine and his wife, Rita, of Millinocket; sisters, Grace Meehan of Bangor and Pauline George of Millinocket; four beloved grandchildren, Michelle, Courtney, Jayme and Peter III; and four great-grandchildren. Peter was predeceased by a brother, Nicholas Pasquine; and sisters, Angelina and Helen. Friends are invited to visit with the family 4-7 p.m. Monday at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where a prayer service will be conducted 6:45 p.m. by the officers and members of Knights of Columbus Council No. 680. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated noon Tuesday, April 22, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 112 Maine Ave., Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider.
