BANGOR – Peter Joseph Dewey Kehoe Jr., husband of 56 years to Norma (Wocel) Kehoe, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday July 3, 2005. He was born July 28, 1925, in New York City, N.Y., the son of Peter Joseph Dewey Kehoe Sr. and Marguerite M. (Schnell) Kehoe. Mr. Kehoe was a Boy Scout as a young man and earned the honor of Eagle Scout in 1938. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II from 1943-1946. In 1950, he began a 20-year career as a New York City fireman. In 1970, after retiring from the fire department, he moved to Maine and began a second career in carpentry and building. Mr. Kehoe was an avid fisherman and woodworker. He is survived by his wife, Norma; four children, Thomas Kehoe and his wife, Carole, of Clinton, Conn., Dr. John Kehoe and his wife, Ellen, of Alburg, Vt., Mary Mooney and her husband, Gregg, of Marlborough, Conn., Janet McAllian and her husband, Donald, of Bangor; 11 grandchildren, Stephen, Matthew, Mark, Peter, James, Kathleen, Andrew, Rebecca, Caroline, Rachel, Jonathan; one sister, Barbara Laden of Virginia. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2005, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Garnett Chute, pastor of the Hermon Baptist Church, officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
