WINTERPORT – Linley L. Brown Sr., 70, died June 30, 2005, at his residence. He was born Feb. 11, 1935, in Bangor, the son of Clifton and Alice (Snow) Brown. Linley worked for Hartts Transportation for 11 years as a dedicated employee with a safe driving record for over 10 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Ruth (Lawson) Brown, of Winterport; three children, Karen and her husband, Clarence Ward II, of Searsport, Brenda Starkey of Gulf Port, Miss., Linley Brown Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Jackman; three grandchildren, Amber, Clarence III, and Latisha; five great-grandchildren, Taren, Alvin, Brittany, Derrick, and Chasidy; three sisters, Adele, Betty and Christine; and one brother, Frank; several nieces and nephews; one special niece, Mary Parks/Crook; and many friends at Hartts Transportation. The family would like to thank CancerCare of Maine and Dr. Openshaw, Andy Guppy, and New Hope Hospice for all the care and consideration shown to Linley. A service of remembrance will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2005, at the Bucksport Church of God, Race Course Road, Bucksport, with the Rev. Kenneth Davenport, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a gathering in the church fellowship hall following the service. Gifts in his memory may be sent to a charity of ones choice.
