TRENTON – Philip E. Coolidge, 71, died Dec. 22, 2003 at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 25, 1932, in Boston, Mass., the son of Philip and Margaret (Moore) Coolidge. He graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1950 and entered the U.S. Air Force and was a crew member on a B-26 Bomber during the Korean War and received numerous medals and citations. After Korea, he was assigned to an Air Refueling unit and spent two years traveling the world on training flights. He was district manager for Ski-Doo snowmobiles and did extensive traveling throughout the Northeast and Canada. For many years he was salesman and later sales manager at Morrison Chevrolet in Ellsworth, retiring in 1991. He was an avid power boater and old car collector and enjoyed going to the car shows. He was a member of the Burton-Goode-Sargent Post of Korean War Veterans, the VFW, and American Legion. He was also past master of Lygonia Lodge of Ellsworth, York Rites, Anah Shriners, and Shriners Convertible unit; past president of the Ellsworth Masonic Club and Hancock County Shrine Club; past president of the Ellsworth Lions Club, past member of the Trenton Snowmobile Club and Trenton Volunteer Fire Department and many other veterans and civic organizations. Phil is survived by a brother, Edward Coolidge and his wife, Pat, of Ellsworth; many cousins and the Pierson families of Ellsworth. Evening visiting from 5-7 p.m. with Masonic Services held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, at Jordan Funeral Home, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where funeral services will be held with VFW/American Legion Color Guard at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27. Burial will be held at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta. If friends desire they may make donations to Shriners Hospital for Children in care of Anah Temple, P.O. Box 735, Bangor, ME 04402
