BUCKSPORT – Philip H. Hutchins, 70, died April 3, 2007, at his home. He was born July 18, 1936, in Orland, son of Arthur F. and Florence (Gray) Hutchins. He graduated from Bucksport High School in 1954 and served in the Air National Guard and Reserves. He was active in Boy Scout Troop 82 of Bucksport as scoutmaster and enjoyed camping at Campobello, New Brunswick, with the boys in the troop. Phil had three boys in the troop become Eagle Scouts, including his son, Jeff, while scoutmaster. Phil is survived by his wife, Shirley (Stitham) Hutchins; two daughters, Lori Hunt and her husband, Everett, and Corinne Bowden and her husband, Craig, all of Bucksport; one son, Jeffery Hutchins and his wife, Tracey, of Winter Harbor; five special grandchildren, Jared and Brittany Bowden, Corey Bouton, all of Bucksport, and Alexis and Emilee Hutchins of Winter Harbor; nephews and nieces, Ken and Linda Hayward of Bucksport, Katherine Guppy of Dover, N.H., Russ and Carol Hayward of Virginia, Becky and Ron Mulaire of Berlin, N.H., Gene and Eva Hayward of Texas, and Stephen Hayward of New Hampshire; and many cousins. The Hutchins family extends special thanks to Phil’s girls at the outpatient observation unit at Eastern Maine Medical Center for their support the past several years. Friends may visit with the family 4 p.m. Friday, April 6, at the Bowden home, 161 Cross Road, Bucksport. Private graveside services will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery, Orland. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Phil’s name may be made to the Bucksport Fire Fighters Association, P.O. Box 1848, Bucksport, ME 04416 or to the Bucksport Community Concerns Food Pantry, P.O.
