HAMLIN – Philip J. Lebel, 50, died July 9, 2004, at a Boston hospital. He was born Jan. 20, 1954, in Van Buren, the son Lionel M. and Florence (Lavoie) Lebel. He was educated in local schools and was a 1973 graduate of Van Buren District High School. Phil received his associate degree in science from Northern Maine Vocational Technical Institute in Presque Isle. He was an assistant manager at the Shop and Save grocery store in Van Buren, until his retirement due to disability. He is survived by three brothers, Robert Lebel and his wife, Elaine, of Jacksonville, Fla., Glen Lebel and his wife, Sandra, of Glenburn, Mark Lebel and his wife, Sugi, of Crestview, Fla.; three sisters, Elaine Ouellette and her husband, Lenny, of Jacksonville, Fla., Karen Boone and her husband, Ralph, of Natick, Mass., Brenda Wesley and her husband, Michael, of Satellite Beach, Fla.; six nieces and nephews, Michael and Tina Lebel, Michelle and Danielle Wesley, Randy Ouellette and Amanda Lebel. He was predeceased by his parents; and by a nephew, Adam Lebel. Relatives and friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday at the Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 12 High St., Van Buren. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be in the family lot at St. Bruno Cemetery.
