BASS HARBOR – Phoebe “Fran” Frances Olsen, 90, died Nov. 10, 2003, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born Oct. 5, 1913, in Olemon, the daughter of Nelson and Harriet Caroline (Loring) Gordius. She grew up in Bass Harbor. She lived for many years in California and New York and was a stay-at-home mom. Fran returned to Bass Harbor to take care of her elderly mother. She is survived by two sons, Eugene C. Olsen of Bass Harbor and Walter O. Olsen of Sacramento, Calif.; three daughters, Faith M. Mracek of Squim, Wash., Deborah L. Radice of Redmond, Wash., and Caroline E. Nolen of West Paris; four sisters, Lorena Norton of New Hampshire, Mary Connors of Florida, Charlene Burton of Nevada, and Peggy Recktor of California; 10 grandchildren, William R. and Kathleen Mracek, Michael R., Jeffrey R. and Christine L. Nolen, Ashley Kisch, Sheryll and Joey Olsen, Dain Olsen and Julie Englebertsen; nine great-grandchildren, Dustin Mracek, Holly Mracek, Joseph Cornacchio, Carrie Ann Cornacchio, Graham, Lars, Ian, Lucas and Tina Nolan. Services of remembrance will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at the Southwest Harbor Congregational Church, 29 High Road, Southwest Harbor.
