BANGOR – Guadalupe “Jose” A. Perez, 76, formally of Sacramento, Calif., passed away peacefully on Nov. 10, 2003, at a healthcare facility in Bangor, with family and friends by his side, following a courageous fight with cancer. He was born Dec. 9, 1926, in Miami, Ariz. Surviving are his daughters, Melody E. Keller and husband, John, of Bangor, and Naya C. Pope and husband, Royce, of Irving, Texas; two step-daughters, Alicia Biggers and husband, Jerry, of Auburn, Calif., and Sandra Sinclair and husband, “Bill,” of Sacramento, Calif.; the mother of his daughters, Melba A. Miller of Sacramento, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Alison J. Chabe and husband, Matthew, of San Diego, Calif., PFC “J” Devin Stout, USA, stationed in Korea, Jonathan Smith and Ashley Smith, both of Sacramento, Calif., Brian Keller and Jared Keller, both of Bangor, Diego DeLeon and Destiny Pope, both of Irving, Texas; one great-granddaughter, Ms. James Chabe; seven step-grandchildren, all of Sacramento, Calif.; and 11 step-great-grandchildren, also all of Sacramento, Calif. With the passing of Jose, only two of the “Three Amigo’s” remain. James Sewell of North Highlands, Calif., and Sanford Briscoe of Huntington Beach, Calif., were long-time friends of Jose, who also deeply mourn his death. Friends and family may call 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Ron Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The family wishes to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff of Stillwater Health Care during papa’s brief stay. A special thank-you goes out to both Wendy, RN, and Travis, CAN, for your continuous support and care during the final hours of papa’s life.
