DOVER-FOXCROFT – Phyllis A. Berce, 90, wife of the late Harold L. Berce, died Nov. 24, 2005, at a local nursing home. She was born Feb. 6, 1915, in Blanchard, the daughter of Arthur and Katherine (Davies) Ames. Phyllis had worked at Mountain’s Market and will be remembered as a friendly face to many over the years. She was a past worthy matron of the Miriam Chapter OES, a past District Deputy Grand Matron to the Grand Chapter OES, and a member of the Dover-Foxcroft United Methodist Church. She is survived by a son, Carlton and his wife, Liana, of Dover-Foxcroft; two sisters, Lillian Herring of Dover-Foxcroft and Eunice Mountain and her husband, Red, of Dover-Foxcroft; a sister-in-law, Kay Ames of Dover-Foxcroft; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Berce; eight grandchildren; 24 great- grandchildren; 10 great-great- grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be remembered by a special friend, Rachel Berce. She was predeceased by a son, Arthur; and three brothers, Harold, Harry and Clarence. Friends are invited to call 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, where funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28.
