BREWER – Phyllis Irene Tourtillotte, 88, wife of the late Melvin W. Toutillotte, died Oct. 8, 2007, at a Bangor health care center. She was born April 14, 1919, in Bangor, daughter of Lewis A. and Bertha E. (Whittier) Morse. Phyllis was a graduate of Brewer High School, Class of 1937 and later was employed by a Bangor beauty salon. Phyllis worked for many years in the Brewer school system, retiring in 1977. She was a member of North Brewer-Eddington United Methodist Church and served as the organist for many years. Surviving are three children, David L. Tourtillotte and daughter-in-law, Connie, of Orrington, Lewis M. Tourtillotte and daughter-in-law, Dee, of Eddington and Mary Hatt and son-in-law, Burton, of Brewer; seven grandchildren, Tanya Vidas and her husband, Chris, Erik Tourtillotte and his wife, Shellie, Jason Tourtillotte, Larry Hatt and his wife, Kenzie, Curtis Hatt and his wife, Kelley, Burton Hatt II and Lauren Tourtillotte. Friends may call 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Brookings-Smith Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 S. Main St., Brewer, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, with the Rev. Dr. Tracy Reeves, pastor of the North Brewer-Eddington United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be at North Brewer Cemetery.
