BRIDGEWATER – Phyllis M. Bradbury Kennedy, LPN, 85, passed away peacefully Saturday March 19, 2005, at Madigan Estates in Houlton. She was born May 1, 1919, in Bridgewater, the first child of Joshua and Etta Sharp Morse. She enjoyed her life as wife, mother, grandmother and being a good friend to many. Phyllis enjoyed poems and stories and loved to share them with family and friends. She liked to entertain and did so whether in Florida or in Maine. She loved the warmth of Florida days. Many good times were enjoyed as each one of the family visited her home in Deland and trips to Daytona Beach. In 2000, Phyllis moved back to Wicklow Place in her hometown of Bridgewater. The past three years she had resided at Madigan Estates in Houlton. Phyllis was a member of the Bridgewater Free Baptist Church, the Rebekah’s, Past Noble Grand, the Bridgewater Extension and the Licensed Practical Nurses Association of Maine. Surviving her are three children, Gail Beals and her husband, Lawrence, of Blaine, Susan Grant and her husband, Basil, of Waterville, Boyd Bradbury and his wife, Charlene, of Bridgewater; two stepchildren, Patrick Kennedy and his wife, Sandra, of Orrington, and Rena Cole of Machias; grandchildren, Wendy Grass and Mark Beals of Blaine, Carmen Glodfelter of Beijing, China, Brad Grant of Winslow, Steven Grant of Pelham, N.H., Bart Bradbury of Bridgewater and Chad Bradbury of Hampden; four step-grandchildren, Renee Trust of Franklin, Shawn Kennedy of Saunderstown, R.I., Cappy Cole of Corinth and Jane Foss of East Machias; two sisters, Lois Antworth of Bridgewater and Leota Roberts of Southington, Conn.; and a brother, Merlin “Cubby” Morse of Littleton; and 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her first husband, Wilbur Bradbury; her second husband, Herbert Kennedy; sisters, Janet McKinnon, Jessie Oparowski and Verna Shaw. Her family would like to thank Dr. McFarlane, Dr. Metzger and the care givers at Madigan Estates for the wonderful care she received during her three year stay. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held later in the spring at the Smith Cemetery in Bridgewater. Those who wish may send gifts in her memory to the Bridgewater Free Baptist Church, P.O.
