BOISE, Idaho – Phyllis Martin Jacques Ouellette slipped peacefully into the arms of God, Jan. 9, 2006, after succumbing to a long, courageous battle with various illnesses. Phyllis was born Aug. 4, 1931, in Caribou and was married to Harold P. Jacques who preceded her in death. Phyllis remarried Clarence W. Ouellette and moved to Idaho in 1969. Phyllis taught her family and others the importance of family values, hard work and the courage to face challenges as they came. She shared her passion for life, laughter and good food. All were welcome in her home and became a part of her extended family, which included housing baseball players for the Boise Hawks and being one of their biggest fans. Phyllis was a humanitarian involved in her community, which included her local church and her beloved community at St. Peter Claver Church in New Orleans. She was selfless in all of her endeavors and touched the lives of all those around her. Her walk through this world left footprints on the hearts of her children and grandchildren that will live for eternity she made a difference. She was preceded in death by her father, Wilfred Martin Sr.; and her husbands, Harold and Clarence. She is survived by her mother, Corinne Martin; two sisters, Bertha Libby and Cecile Bell; her brother, Wilfred Martin Jr., all of Caribou and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family, friends and parishioners of her local church. Phyllis has five children, Tim Jacques and his wife, Sharon, Tom Jacques and his wife, Jean, Stuart Jacques and his wife, Isabelle, Lynn Richter and her husband, Jerry and Judy Apland and her husband, Randy. She was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Her brother-in-law, the Rev. Michael Jacques will preside for the funeral services. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Phyllis’s name to St. Peter Claver Church, Attn: Rev.
