BANGOR – Phyllis P. Iwan-iszek, 70, loving mother, grand-mother and great-grandmother, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ May 16, 2007, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She fought the good fight of faith and won. She was born March 17, 1937, in Bangor, the daughter of William and Florence (Branscome) Proctor. She enjoyed spending time with her family, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a mem-ber of Bangor Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving children, two sons, John Iwaniszek of Bangor and Stephen Iwaniszek and his wife, Chong, of Las Vegas; two daughters, Debra and her husband, Timothy Murphy, and Dee Dee and her husband, Barry Wood, all of Hudson; her precious grandchildren, Justin, Jestina, Kasey, Amy, Adam, Mindy and Mariah; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Jordon, Madison and Nevaeh; sister, Shirley Wellman; brother, George Proctor. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving daughter, Cheryl; brothers, Gerald, Robert and Edward; and sister, Marie. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her and loved her; a special son-in-law, Timothy; and a very special granddaughter, Kasey Rae, who loved and cared for her grandmother unconditionally before and during her illness. She was the extended hands of God. Though we will miss her, we know one day we will see her again for that’s God’s promise to us that we believe. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, May 21, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Mick, pastor of Bangor Baptist Church, officiating. Friends may call 1 p.m. until time of the service. Gifts in her memory may be sent to The Rock Church Youth Group, 1195 Ohio St., Bangor, ME 04401 or Salvation Army, 65 Park St., Bangor, ME 04401.
