JONESBORO – Priscilla Roberta Welch Maggiore Alley, 74, died Oct. 15, 2003, at a Brewer healthcare facility. She was born March 16, 1928, at Whiting, the adopted daughter of Frank R. and Mary A. (Crocker) Welch of Roque Bluffs. She was a graduate of Washington Academy and Washington State Normal School. She resided in Massachusetts and worked in the Boston area for several years. After moving back to Maine, she worked assisting the elderly and at Elm Street School in East Machias. She is survived by her life partner, William O. Alley; son, Wayne E. Hanscom of Roque Bluffs; daughter, Margo Clark and husband, Richard of Hermon; brother, Adelbert Roberts and his wife, Leona, of Poland; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special niece, Nancy and her husband, Sonny Grindle, of Bar Harbor. She was predeceased by her birth parents, Roy and Effie Belle (Ackley) Roberts; her adopted parents, Frank and Mary (Crocker) Welch; her husband, Joseph Maggiore; brothers, Lawrence, Clarence, Austin and Ralph Roberts; sister, Lena and infant sister, Flora.
