DYER BROOK- Priscilla “Tillie” Irene Townsend died July 16, 2006, at an Orono healthcare facility. She was born Oct. 11, 1927, in Smyrna Mills, the daughter of Percy and Roxie (Hardy) Grey. Tillie was a long time resident of Dyer Brook. She cooked for many years at the Dyer Brook and Southern Aroostook Community schools. She enjoyed going to senior citizens, her Purple Hat Society and going to the Dyer Brook Community Church, where she was a member for more than 30 years. She was also a member of RSVP where she did Meals-On-Wheels. She is survived by her daughters, Wannetta Townsend of Dyer Brook and Gail Berry and her husband, Jon, of Ashland; one son, Mark Townsend and his wife, UnHui, of Dover, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Mark Schenk and his wife, Janese, of Jacksonville, Fla. and Angela McArdle of Ashland; and one great-grandson, Joseph Ray Schenk of Jacksonville, Fla. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Ray Townsend. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 20, at the Dyer Brook Community Church where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Andy Harthorne. Interment will be held at the Dyer Brook Cemetery. A luncheon will be immediately after the service at the church. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.
