CLEARWATER, Fla. – Quentin E. Robinson, 86, died Feb. 27, 2006. He was born Dec. 21, 1919, in Dexter, son of Everett and Gardys (Nichols) Robinson. He graduated from N.H. Fay High School in Dexter. He married the former Katherine Bentley of Dexter. He worked at the Fay Scott Machine Shop in Dexter up until he joined the U.S. Navy, at the beginning of World War II. Quentin served aboard the destroyer, USS Emmons, which was attacked and sunk. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received during that battle. After the Navy, he worked in Nashua, N.H. for Improved Machinery for several years and then went to work for Ingersal Rand, where he worked for 28 years as a purchasing agent and then as projects manager, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Largo, Fla., a 32nd degree mason, and member of the Shrine and American Legion. He enjoyed golf and traveling. Quentin was predeceased by his first wife, Katherine; his parents; brothers, Darrol and Ernest; and sister, Margaret. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Natalie Robinson; daughter, Jane Robinson of Berkley, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Sandra Smyth of Fairfield, Conn., and Deborah Eschenbach of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Fred Robinson Zephyrhills, Fla., and Kenneth Robinson of Ripley; and also a sister, Roberta Parsons of Dexter. A memorial service will be held April 14, in Clearwater, Fla.
