BREWER – Floyd L. Small, 88, passed away March 19, 2006, at Brewer Rehab & Living Center. He was born Oct. 8, 1917, in Machiasport, the son of Leland and Essie (Johnson) Small. Floyd was a graduate of Bangor High School, Class of 1936. He was employed by New England Tel. & Tel. for 27 years and was a member of the New England Telephone Pioneers. Floyd enjoyed hunting and fishing, canoeing, camping, woodworking and furniture making. Surviving are his wife, Ruth (Whiting) Small; one daughter, Ann Mesenzeff and her husband, Victor, of Beavercreek, Ohio; two sons and their spouses, William R. Small and Nancy-Anne of Levant, and Charles L. Small and Nita of Roy, Utah; one brother, Eldridge Small of Franklin; one sister, Maryann Hutchinson of Annapolis, Md.; grandchildren and their spouses, Victor Mesenzeff and Sandie of Dunbarton, N.H., Tanya George and Jerry of Fairborn, Ohio, Tina Yarnell and Michael of Kettering, Ohio, Samuel E. Small of Roy, Utah, Supatra Rapp and Norman of Salt Lake City, Utah, Dick Holtzclaw and Natalie of Las Vegas, Nev.; great-grandchildren, Andrea Mesenzeff, Lauren and Colleen George, Brooklyn Rapp and Jacob Yarnell; several nephews, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Maurice Small; and sister, Florence Johnson. At Floyd’s request, there will be no services. Burial will be in the Hill Rest Cemetery in Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank the Brewer Rehab & Living Center for all the care they had given to Floyd.
