WASHBURN – R. June Durost, 75, died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at her residence. She was born June 28, 1929, in Washburn, the daughter of Earl and Ella (Hanson) Brewer. June was a graduate of Washburn High School and after graduation attended the Normal School in Presque Isle. She later married Harold Durost and raised their family. Years later she went back to work as a clerk at a bank and in her retirement years enjoyed working with senior citizens. She was an attendee of New Life Baptist Church and in years past was very active in church youth groups. She is survived by two sons, Beverly E. Durost and his wife, Linda, of South Dartmouth, Mass., Harold B. Durost and his wife, Ruth, of Holiday, Fla.; two daughters, Katherine A. Corey and her husband, Keith, of Washburn, Rose M. Miller and her husband, Chris, of Presque Isle; a sister, Muriel Flora of Logansport, Ind.; nine grandchildren, Nathaniel, Heather, Kent, Kyle, Kristin, Danielle, Jonathan, Bryan, Shannon, and also several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, June was predeceased by her husband, Harold B. Durost; a brother, Arthur S. Brewer; and a sister, A. Christine Estacado. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bruce Blakney, officiating. A spring interment will take place at Crouseville Cemetery, Crouseville. Those who wish may make donations to their local library.
