NATICK, MASS. – Raffaelina “Effie” (Manzo) Forshner, 81, of Natick, Mass., died unexpectedly at her home on Monday, Nov. 24, 2003. She was the wife of the late Edwin A. “Whitey” Forshner, who died in 1992. Born in Millinocket, she was a daughter of the Eugene and Mary (Moscone) Manzo. She had been a resident of Natick for the past 50 years. Following the death of his first wife and the mother of his two children, Mr. Forshner married Raffaelina in 1949. Blessed to join their family as a loving mother to Linda McParland and her husband, Gerard, of Natick, Lawrence Forshner and his wife, Marilyn, of Natick; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one sister, Carmen Doe of Medway; six brothers, Paul Manzo of Lynn, Mass., Eugene Jr., Joseph, Angelo, Frederick and Robert Manzo, all of Millinocket; many friends and her devoted neighbors of 50 years, Rita Farrell and Jean Costello. Mrs. Forshner was the sister of the late Carl, John, Johnny and Natale Manzo, Antoinette Lowell, Barbara Hale and Esther Porter. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Zepherin’s Church, at Cochituate Village, Wayland, Mass. Visiting hours are from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home at Natick Common. Burial will take place 12:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1 at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, Mass. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 2680, North Canton, Ohio 44720.
