CASTLE HILL – Randa Crowell (Tupper) Moody, 81, wife of the late Warren L. Moody, died Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at the Cary Medical Center in Caribou, after a brief illness. Randa was born Dec. 10, 1923, in Perham, the daughter of Victor and Harriett (Russell) Tupper. She was a graduate of Sudbury High School in Sudbury, Mass. and of Bryant and Stratton Business School in Boston, Mass. She also attended Husson College. She was employed by various businesses throughout her life. Her last place of employment was a A.E. Flewelling and Sons of Crouseville, where she worked as office manager for more than 20 years before her health forced her to retire at age 69. She joined the Maple Leaf Temple Pythian Sisters in Mapleton, where after serving as secretary for many years she achieved the rank of past chief. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Seaside Temple in Eastport, a lifetime member of the Aroostook River Snowmobile Club, where she served as treasurer for many years, and a member of the Castle Hill Advent Christian Church, where she had served as deaconess. Randa enjoyed knitting, reading, crossword puzzles, and gardening. She is survived by her daughters, Doris L. Thoren and her husband, William, of Bethel, Conn., Paula J. Elliott and her husband, Erwin of Mapleton, Ruth E. Alley and her husband, Garold, of Castle Hill, and Andrea Powell of South Portland; her sons, Frank L. Moody and wife, Anita, of Woodland, Robert L. Moody and Cathy Mayes of Fairfield; a brother, Hiram Tupper of Hudson, Mass.; a sister, Patricia (Tupper) Ashley of Middleboro, Mass., 12 grandchildren, Mark and Wade Thoren, Warren Elliott, Lida (Moody) Pinkham, Lorraine (Moody) Daigle, Michael Alley, Rowena (Alley) Forbes, Joshua Alley, Miranda (Alley) Burdo, John Powell, Valerie and Rosemary Moody; five great-grandchildren, Arjuna Elliott, Geoffrey and Ella Burdo, Caleb Daigle, and Priya Thoren. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Warren L. Moody; a brother, Reginald Tupper; and a son, James L. Moody. A Memorial Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005, at the Castle Hill Advent Christian Church in Castle Hill.
