WELLINGTON – Angie P. Ricker, 84, of Wellington, passed away March 9, 2005, at Dexter Health Care Facility, Dexter, after a brief illness. She was born in Wellington, July 2, 1920, the daughter of Oscar and Roxie (Corson) Ward. She was educated in the Wellington schools. On Feb. 24, 1940 she married Cecil Ricker in a double ceremony with her brother and sister-in-law, Lester and Florence (Cowett) Ward. Angie was a homemaker, past custodian for Wellington’s grade schools, and had been employed by several area shoe shops. She was a member of Grange No. 333 in Wellington, past member of the Rebekah Lodge of Harmony, and past member of the Heart of Gold Snowmobile Club in Harmony. Angie liked to knit, cook, and was famous for her donuts. She also loved to play cribbage and other card games. She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil, who died in 1996; four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by two sons, Roger Ricker and wife, Judy, Garnet Ricker and wife, Cheryl, all of Wellington; three grandsons, Garnet Jr., Tony and Shane; two step-grandsons, Jason and Brian Braley; nine great-grandchildren, one brother, Basil Ward and wife, Rena, of Bridgeton; sister-in-law, Georgia Ward of Wellington; brother-in-law, Horace Ricker and wife, Gertrude, of Texas; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 11, at Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan. A funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005, at the funeral home with the Rev. Levi Pratt officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at Mt. Rest Cemetery, Athens.
