CARMEL – Raymond P. “Kip” Cunningham Jr., 58, died May 25, 2007, at his home. He was born June 3, 1948, in Belfast the son of Raymond and Merlyn (Jones) Cunningham Sr. Kip was a member of Carmel Union Congregational Church, a life member of the Benevolent Lodge No. 87 AF & AM, Carmel; Scottish Right Bodies, Maine Consistory 32 degree, Anah Shriners, member of the Past Masters unit of Anah Shrine and was Coro-neted a 33rd degree, June 3, 2004. He was also a member of the Star in the East Chapter No. 17, O.E.S., Hampden. Kip was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving his time at Loring Air Force Base, Limestone. He retired from the U.S. Parcel Service, Brewer, April 1, 2005, with 28 1/2 years of service. Kip enjoyed camping, fishing and especially spending time with his family, friends and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Nancy (Moody) Cunningham of Carmel; one son, Gary Cunningham and his wife, Debbie, of Hermon; four grandchildren, Kyle, Jocelyn, Jordon and Hannah Cunningham, all of Hermon; his mother, Merlyn Cunningham of Belfast; two brothers, Kenton Cunningham and his wife, Kathy, of Freedom and Wayne Cunningham and his wife, Lori, of Belfast; a special sister-in-law, Maxine Clements and her husband, Fred, of Monroe; two special brother-in-laws, Larry Moody and his wife, Maria, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Paul Moody and his wife, Sharon, of Troy; many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by extended family, Mary Pike and family. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by one daughter, Tammy Cunningham. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Sunday, May 27, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where the members of Anah’s past masters unit will celebrate a Masonic service 3 p.m. Sunday. Memorial services will be celebrated 2 p.m. Sunday, June 3, at Carmel Union Congregational Church with Pastor Ruth Guerette officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Carmel.
