REGINALD E. PARSONS DIXMONT – Reginald E. Parsons passed away Sept. 23, 2008, at a Bangor nursing facility. He was born Feb. 28, 1924, in Pittsfield, the son of Lawrence and Gertrude Mitchell-Parsons. Reginald attended schools in Dixmont and Hampden. He enlisted in the military in 1942 and served his time in Central Burma and China. After he returned home, he worked on his family’s farm and then became self-employed for a short time. He then worked for A.J. Coles, Bangor, for 38 years as a diesel mechanic. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty, who now resides at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor; son, Barry Parsons and his wife, Lorraine, of Dixmont; one granddaughter, Kelley Hersey and her husband, Philip, of Dixmont; one great-granddaughter, Kristen Hersey of Dixmont; several nieces and nephews. The family thanks the staff at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor, for the exceptional care they provided for Reginald. In keeping with Reginald’s wishes, graveside service will be private.
