BRYANT POND – The Rev. Linwood A. Hanson, 80, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, with whom he had a lifelong relationship with, Sunday, March 16, 2008, in Norway. He was born Dec. 24, 1927, in Bradford, a son of Arthur and Doris Jones Hanson. He graduated from Bradford High School. In 1956 he graduated from New Brunswick Bible Institute, Victoria, New Brunswick. He was a pastor for 42 years, seven years at First Baptist Church of West Gardiner and 35 years at Bryant Pond Baptist Church. He was a gentle, godly man who loved the ministry. He produced the Bryant Pond Hour on the local cable network. He enjoyed photography, videos and cameras. He also enjoyed carpentry and designing buildings. On Sept. 22, 1950, he married Virginia Rozelle. Survivors include his wife of Bryant Pond; a daughter, Ellen Hanson of Bryant Pond; a sister, Jane Rozelle and her husband, Lloyd, of Guilford; an aunt, Noreen Jones of Corinth; a sister-in-law, Barbara Rozelle of Bryant Pond; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, John, in 1974. Family and friends may attend memorial services 1 p.m. Thursday at West Paris Baptist Church and another memorial service 1 p.m. Saturday at Bradford Baptist Church. Spring interment will be at Williams Cemetery, Bradford. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial gifts in his memory to Child Evangelism Fellowship of Western Maine, P.O.
