MONCTON, New Brunswick The Rev. Wallace H. Harris, 96, of Briarlea Special Care Home, Moncton, New Brunswick and formerly of Chesswood Avenue, Riverview, New Brunswick, passed away Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, at the Moncton Hospital. He was born in Bar Harbor, the son of the late James and Charlotte (Hayward) Harris. The Rev. Harris attended Bar Harbor Schools, Maine Central Institute, the University of Maine and Andover Newton Theological Seminary. He had pastorates in York Beach, Lewiston, South Portland and East Millinocket. All his pastorates were in Maine. He retired from the ministry in 1974. He is survived by four children: son James and his wife, Anne, of Truro, Mass.; daughter Charlotte H. and her husband, Alden Colby, of Penobscot; son Charles and his wife, Joan, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; and daughter, Amy L. Harris of Somerville, Mass.; eight grandchildren, Sandra, James, Laura, Kimberly, Jennifer, Nina, Juliette, and Sirrah; six great-grand-children, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Eunice (Reed) Harris in 1997; brothers James and Charles Donald and sister Mary Thompson. The family invites friends to call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at the Jordan Fernald Funeral Home, 48 Eden St., Bar Harbor. The funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003, at St. Saviours Church, Bar Harbor. Interment will be in Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor. Donations may be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church, Riverview, New Brunswick, or to First Congregational Church East Millinocket.
