PRESQUE ISLE – Douglas W. Jencks, 60, died Saturday morning, Oct. 25, 2003, at his residence. He was born Feb. 27, 1943, in Coventry, R.I., the son of Leo and Blanche (Gendron) Jencks. Douglas worked at the Bath Iron Works from the mid-60’s until he became disabled in the late 1970s. His favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing, riding snowmobiles and four wheelers. Besides his mother of Coventry, R.I., he is survived by his wife, Ella Mae (McIntosh) Jencks of Presque Isle; five sons, Douglas M. Jencks and his fianc‚e, Raylene Blair, of Washburn, Eric A. Jencks and his wife, Julie, of Woodland, Samuel L. Jencks of Washburn, Douglas Jencks Jr. and Douglas St. Jean, both of Rhode Island; eight daughters, Brenda L. Jencks and her fianc‚, Scottie Bragdon, of Washburn, Samantha L. Bouchard and her husband, John, of Caribou, Lisa M. Jencks of Caribou, Emma Jencks of Eastport, Kimberly Jencks, Cheryl Jencks, Michelle St. Jean and Valerie Hebert, all of Rhode Island; two step-daughters, Tammy McIntosh of Presque Isle, and Sandie Charles and her husband, Kevin, of Michigan; three brothers, Leo Jencks and his wife, Marge, of New Haven, Fla., Gregory Jencks and his wife, Cindy, of Campton, N.H., the Rev. Jeffrey Jencks and his wife, Ilene, of Cumberland, R.I.; and a sister, Sandra Crisp of New Hampshire; 16 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He will be remembered by two special friends, Dana Griffin and Gloria Bernier. He was predeceased by his father, Leo F. Jencks, in 2002. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. Scott Mower officiating. Relatives and friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Hillside Grove Cemetery, Crouseville.
