BASS HARBOR – Richard A. Black Sr., 87, passed away May 4, 2007, at Mount Desert Island Hospital. He was born March 7, 1920, in Bass Harbor, the son of Arthur T. and Fredrica (Norwood) Black. Richard made his living as a lobsterman for many years. He was a member of the Tremont Congregational Church and a lifetime member of Tremont Masonic Lodge, Southwest Harbor. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Roberta (Grant) Black; one daughter, Fredrica Jane Perri of Florida; one son, Richard A. Black Jr. and wife, Linda, of Mississippi; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many friends. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, at the Tremont Congregational Church, Tremont, with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Buchanan officiating.
