WINTERPORT – Richard A. Hamor Jr., 55, died unexpectedly Aug. 21, 2006, at his Winterport home, of an apparent heart attack. He was born June 12, 1951, in Bangor, the son of Richard A. Hamor Sr. and Celestia T. (Rancourt) Hamor. He was a graduate of Brewer High School, Class of 1969 and Pierre’s School of Cosmetology, Portland. Richard was the owner and operator of Old Port Hair Salon in Winterport for many years. The family thanks his loyal and dedicated clientele for their many years of patronage. Surviving in addition to his father are his two sisters, Holly Brown and husband, John, of Winterport and Regina Mitchell and husband, J. Brett, of Bass Harbor; life partner, Gerald Bickmore of Winterport; nephew, Christopher Hamor and wife, Michelle, of Winterport; nephew, John Mitchell and wife, Elean, of Bass Harbor; niece, Cher Norton of Oviedo, Fla.; niece, Theresa Mitchell of Bass Harbor; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother 2002. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial services will be held immediately after the service in the family lot at Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport.
