Jonesport – Richard A. Johnson, 55, passed away Nov. 9, 2004, at Sunrise Care Facility, in Jonesport after an extended illness. He was born March 1, 1949, in Jonesport, the son of Clifford F. Johnson Sr. and Minnie G. (Carver) Johnson. Richard always looked forward to attending the Sunrise workshop. He loved the Special Olympics. He attended Sawyer Memorial Congregational Church. Richard also enjoyed music and was an avid wrestling fan. He is survived by his father, Clifford Johnson Sr. of Jonesport; three sisters, Karleen Dorey and fianc?, James Hart, of Levant, Elaine Brown and husband, Dwayne, and Vicki-lee Johnson and fianc?, Charles Huntley, all of Jonesport; brother, Clifford Johnson Jr. and wife, Jane, of Jonesport; sister-in-law, Laureta Johnson of Jonesport; several nieces, nephews and many special friends at Sunrise Care Facility. He was predeceased by his mother, Minnie (Carver) Johnson in 1999; and a brother, Milton Johnson in 2002. The family would like to thank the staff at Sunrise Health Care for the special love and care that was shown to Richard while he was there. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at Sawyer Memorial Congregational Church in Jonesport. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at the church with Pastor George Woodward officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Jonesport.
