ST. STEPHEN, New Brunswick – Richard Alan Granville of Queensway, St. Stephen, New Brunswick, died Aug. 3, 2006, at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, New Brunswick. He was the son of the late Stanley D. and Edith (Seeley) Granville. Richard is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elaine (Scovil) Granville; son, Michael Granville and wife, Ann, of Riverview, New Brunswick; daughter, Judy Thornton and husband, Norman, of Calais; grandson, Christopher Thornton of Bangor; sister, Rosalie (Shreve) Angus of Sackville, New Brunswick; as well as several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Atlantic time, Monday, Aug. 7, from the S.O. Mehan and Son Funeral Home, Ltd., 23 Main St., St. Stephen, New Brunswick, with the Rev. Lyman Harding officiating. The family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. Atlantic time, Monday, Aug. 7, at the funeral home. Interment will be 2 p.m. Atlantic time, Wednesday, Aug. 9, at St. Stephen Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Canadian Red Cross or charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
