FORT KENT – Richard “Bea” Michaud, 77, died June 4, 2004, at his residence in Fort Kent. He was born Nov. 8, 1926, in Soldier Pond, the son of Ronald and Agnes (Landry) Michaud. He was a member of the V.F.W. Lozier O’Grady Post No. 9609 of Fort Kent. Following World War II, he worked for B & A Railroad for 30 years as a track maintenance foreman, until his retirement at the age of 62. In addition to spending time with his family, he loved cats and reading novels. He is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Edwidge (Ouellette) Michaud of Fort Kent; six stepchildren, Johnny and his wife, Trudy Ouellette, of St. Francis, Leo Paul and his wife, Emma Ouellette, of the island, Trinadad, Jeanne Daigle of Fort Kent, James Ouellette of Fort Kent, Charles and his wife, Bertha Ouellette, of Clinton, and Marie Ouellette of Fort Kent; three sisters, Mildred Bossie of Fort Kent, Lorraine Stadig of Nashua, N.H., and Gilmay Michaud of Lewiston. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial with full military honors will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent, with the Rev. Claude Gendreau officiating.
