NEWPORT and ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Richard Carroll Bubar, 74, passed away Friday, March 11, 2005, at the Moffit Cancer Center in Tampa, Fla. He was born May 15, 1930, in St. Albans the son of Milton and Edith (Emerson) Bubar. He attended schools in St. Albans and at MCI in Pittsfield. He was a member of Meridian Masonic Lodge AF & AM No. 125, Ira Berry Chapter, the Knights Templer, DeMolay, Anah Shrine, and the Bethleham Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of the High Street Congregational Church in Newport. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marion L. (Mitchell) Bubar of Newport and Zephyrhills, Fla.; two sons, Carroll and his wife, Nancy, of Smithfield, and Robert of New Port Richey, Fla.; two grandsons, Jason of New Port Richey, and Travis of Eustes Va.; two brothers, Clifford and his wife, Le Ellen, of Oldsmar, Fla., Western and his wife, Camilla, of Marco Island Fla.; his sister, Virginia and her husband, Dale Hopkins, of Etna; a stepsister, Catherine and her husband, Eric Marsh, of Camden. He will also be remembered by two special people, Karen Bubar and Mary Ann Sweitzer. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at the Bradford Congregational Church in Zephyrhills, Fla.; the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial services will be held in the spring at the High Street Church at a time to be announced.
