FORT FAIRFIELD – Richard “Dick” Anthony Levesque, 72, husband of Mrs. Evelyn Leve-sque, died Sunday, May 16, 2004, at a Presque Isle healthcare facility, surrounded by his family. He was born June 4, 1931, at Fort Fairfield, the son of Dennis and Philomen (Beaulieu) Levesque. Dick was a member of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1949, and served in the U.S. Army Infantry during the Korean War. He was married to Evelyn Gloade on Sept. 9, 1955, and was employed as a Postal Clerk in Fort Fairfield for 37 years. Dick was a member of the VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Fort Fairfield, and the American Legion, Walter Lovely Post No. 27, Fort Fairfield, the Knights of Columbus, Council No. 1753, Fort Fairfield, where he held many positions including, Grand Knight and was past president of the Fort Fairfield Planning Board. He was an active communicant of the St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield, and was also very active in his community. Mr. Levesque loved to dance and sing, and possessed a special passion for walking. He greatly loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and his love was felt by his siblings and extended family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Levesque was predeceased by three brothers, Romeo, Leroy and Dennis Levesque Jr.; four sisters, Juliette Levesque, Elizabeth King, Gladys King and Pauline Parker. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mrs. Evelyn Levesque of Fort Fairfield; three daughters, Denise Levesque of Caribou, Vickie Levesque of Chemo Pond, Donna Kenneson and her husband, Ronnie, of Fort Fairfield; one son, Richard A. “Tony” Levesque and his wife, DeeDee, of Fort Fairfield; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gilbert and Lucille Levesque of Fort Fairfield, Thomas and Carol Levesque of Springvale; four grandchildren, Timothy P. Levesque, Aaron I. Kenneson, Andrew R. Levesque and Jacob A. Kenneson, all of Fort Fairfield; many special nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, at the Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield. A Rosary will be recited 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at the St. Denis Catholic Church, 143 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Raymond celebrant. Interment will follow at the St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, immediately following the funeral Mass. A time of fellowship will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 260 Main St., Fort Fairfield, following interment. The Levesque family extends a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Aroostook Medical Center, Presque Isle, for the wonderful care given to Dick and his family during his illness. In lieu of flowers, those who chose may contribute in memory of Mr. Levesque to the St. Denis Catholic Church Memorial Fund, 143 Main St., Fort Fairfield, ME 04742.
