ST. ALBANS – Richard E. Brooker, 33, died unexpectedly Nov. 28, 2007. He was born Aug. 22, 1974, in Ellsworth, a son of Edward and Mary (Gagnon) Brooker. His family moved to Newport when he was five years old and he graduated from Nokomis Regional High, Class of 1993. He had been employed at Irving Tannery, Hartland. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, music and his many friends. He is survived by his mother, Mary of Newport; his wife, Sharon (Tasker) Brooker of St. Albans; a stepson, Eric Garnett of Pittsfield; two stepdaughters, Ashley and Angie Garnett of St. Albans; a brother, Kerry and wife, Maggie Olmstead, of Louisiana; two sisters, Annette and husband, John Clark, of Dixmont and Amanda and husband, Ron Cook, of Etna; two half brothers, Edward Brooker of Worcester, Mass., and Graydon Brooker of Las Vegas; a half sister, Bonnie Brooker, also of Las Vegas; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father in 1984; and by a brother, Kevin in 1993. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Friends may call noon until the time of services at the funeral home. Spring burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Newport.
