DOVER, N.H. – Richard E. “Rich” Barron, 46, of Spring Street, died Feb. 12, 2004, at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was born Feb. 17, 1957, in Boston, Mass., the son of Emmons W. and Joann (McLaughlin) Barron. Rich was a 21-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having enjoyed the traveling aspects of a military life. Following his retirement from the Air Force, he worked for Boston-Maine AirLines at Pease International Tradeport as an aircraft mechanic. Rich was a graduate of Weymouth South High School in Weymouth, Mass. He was an avid guitar player, enjoyed hockey, playing on Air Force teams, his favorite pro team being the Bruins. An avid outdoorsman, Rich loved going to his cabin in Maine to spend time fishing with his sons. He was an antique car buff, owning a 1955 Chevy. Rich was active in the NCOA while in the service, then in the American Legion. Members of his family include his mother, Joann (McLaughlin) Wood of Dennysville; his wife, Jeanne (McFarland) Barron; two sons, Erik Richard Barron and Timothy Raymond Barron, all of Farmington; brothers, Donald and Michael Barron of Weymouth, Mass.; his sisters, Debra Barrett and Tammy Campbell, both of Weymouth, Christina Reeves of Richmond, Va., and Susan Avedissian of Middleboro, Mass.; a longtime family friend, Richard Prouty of Dennysville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave. Dover, N.H. Burial will be in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, N.H.
