RICHARD G. JOHNSTON PRESQUE ISLE – Richard G. Johnston, 62, died May 31, 2006, at a local hospital. He was born Feb. 12, 1944, in Presque Isle, the son of Gerald F. and Frances (McEachern) Johnston. He was member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Presque Isle. Dick served in the National Guard for many years and was employed as the parts manager at Presque Isle Volkswagen for more than 25 years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who understood the value of spending quality time with his family. In addition to his mother of Presque Isle, Dick is survived by his wife, Gail (Coffin) Johnston; a son and his wife, Shad C. and Ronda Johnston; a daughter and her husband, Stephanie J. and Troy Stephenson; grandchildren, Brycen Emery Libby, Abagail Katy Johnston, Sophia Grace Stephenson; a brother, Donald S. Johnston; a sister and her husband, Judith and Larry Drost, all of Presque Isle; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Matthew Maxwell officiating. A reception will be immediately afterward in the gathering area of the funeral home. Interment will be in the Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle.
