BANGOR and BREWER – Richard J. Newbury II, 39, died unexpectedly July 20, 2006. He was born Aug. 24, 1966, in Bangor, the son of Richard and Catherine (Robertson) Newbury. He attended Brewer schools until receiving his diploma from the Orlando, Fla. school system. Richard had many talents, including carpentry electrical and automotive mechanics. He worked at Snow and Neally, Lemforders and Maine Drilling and Blasting. He loved the outdoors including hunting and fishing and especially enjoyed NASCAR. He was a loving husband, son, brother, father and friend to all. Richard was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his five children. In addition to his wife, Melissa of Old Town, he is survived by sons, Richard Newbury III and his wife, Teresa, of Sangerville and Nicholas Bailey of Old Town; daughters, Lela-Michelle, Samantha and Katie Newbury, all of Old Town; his mother, Catherine Gilman and her husband, Stephen, of Bangor; brother, Craig Newbury of Hermon and his friend, Cookie; his sister, Kelly Howe and her husband, Steven, of Old Town; his sister-in-law; two grandchildren, Mackenzie and Makayla Newbury of Sangerville; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father and grandparents. Richard will be missed by all. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, with the Rev. Robert T. Carlson, Chaplain of Husson College, officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer. There will be a gathering of family and friends at the home of his mother, 501 Union St., Lot 57, Bangor.
