GLENBURN – Richard P. “Pops” Lee Sr., 75, died after a courageous bat-tle with leukemia Oct. 4, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born June 21, 1930, in Bangor, the son of Charles Perley and Mittie Ella (Jellison) Lee. Richard attended Bangor High School and Husson College. He served his country in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne Division, mostly in Germany during the Korean War. Richard worked in the automotive industry traveling through-out the State of Maine for more than 35 years. He enjoyed times on his boat, the lakeside view from his home and more than anything, loved his time with his grandchildren. Richard was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Jacqueline (Wardwell) Lee March 12, 2005 and by two brothers and a sister. He is survived by two children, Richard P. Lee Jr. and his girlfriend, Brenda Thurlow of Buckfield and Lori Ann Parker and husband, Christopher, of Bangor; six grandchildren, Jessica Doucette and her husband, Josh, of Old Town, Richard P. Lee III and his fianc?e, Alisha Wood of Glenburn, Sean Michael Parker, Kristin Ann Parker, and Megan Elizabeth Parker, all from Bangor, and Jackie Joella Lee of Buckfield; two great-grandchildren, Jordyn Sierra Lee of Glenburn and Brodi David Doucette of Old Town; a brother, Perley Lee of New Hampshire; a sister, Virginia Goodness of Brewer; a brother-in-law, Arthur F. Wardwell Jr. (Capt. Ret. USN) of San Diego, Calif.; many nieces and nephews and cherished dog Chou-Chou. Friends may call 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 6, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Oct 7. Interment will be in Castine. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, following the service.
